The Snarl

My snarling face

Do I look fearsomely scary in the photo above? I should! That is my snarl. Coral took this photo of me when she was staying with us. I used this face on her all the time trying to scare her away. Eventually, it worked, although it did take much longer than I was expecting.

I think part of the reason my snarl doesn’t scare people is because I also make this face when I am happy or playing. We capybaras don’t have a lot of diversity in facial expressions so each one has to serve multiple functions.

Oh my, I believe if you “snarled” at me, I’d kiss you on the nose!

Caplin – teach me to snarl in a friendly way – would be helpful at work!

Are you sure this isn’t photoshopped????
I just can’t quite see your mouth getting into that stance/position so to speak!

It is not photoshopped. I really can make that face.

I can’t understand your wish to scare Coral away. You just forgot how you loved her when you were little!

I wish I still loved her but she was gone and then when she came back she just stayed and stayed and kept annoying me!
