Halloween 2010

Me and Capycoppy checking out our costumes

Halloween has got to be my very favorite holiday! Every year we go to the costume contest at the local PetCo. This will be my fourth year and it’s going to be a very special one.

In the photo above, you might notice that I am with Capycoppy, my plush self, and we are wearing matching costumes. These amazing costumes were made by our friend Mansie OLeary. She doesn’t live near here and we have never even met her but we love the wonderful things she makes for us. As you might be able to tell, Capycoppy and I are going as Whos from Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss. Whos are very small and I am very large so I’m not sure it makes sense. Maybe I should have gone as Horton and Capycoppy could have been the Who. On the other hand, I love the way our costumes match.

Mansie sure put a lot of detail into the costumes! We have little rubies on our spats and bow ties under our necks.

All of that is very, very impressive but guess what! Mansie made a costume for my guinea pig co-pet, Hello Pineapple, too!

To be honest, I’m not sure Hello Pineapple really appreciates her costume. She’s a little shy. And maybe she thinks the bow tie isn’t feminine enough for her.

Showing off their hats

I think HP was trying to hide under her hat for this photo. Well, they are pretty cute hats and she’s a small guinea pig so it almost worked.

Me with Capycoppy's hat

I tried on Capycoppy’s hat to see if I needed a smaller size but I guess it was a bit too small. Maybe I should have used HP’s although, come to think of it, it might be even smaller.

So anyway, if you’re in the Austin area on Oct 30th at 1 pm, make sure you come see us at the PetCo Howl-o-ween Costume Contest on Brodie Lane. All three of us will be there and we are planning on winning! (It would actually be more exciting if the prize weren’t dog treats.)
