Some of you may recognize the rubber stamp shown above. Melly has been using it on a lot of the packages she sends out from our Capybara Madness store. In fact, all of the Caplin-Popsicle necklaces have gone out with this stamp on their package, which seems very appropriate.
She got that stamp in January after she randomly found it on Etsy. A brief email conversation with the artist, Christel LeBlanc, revealed that it is modeled on Caplin Rous. Well, duh, why else would a capybara be paired with a popsicle?
But of course that is not the end of it. Melly is nothing if not weird, I mean inventive. Or something. Not weird, I didn’t say that.
Anyway, just today she got a kit in the mail for making her own rubber stamps.
This is the very first rubber stamp that Melly made. I am happy to say that she made it of me! (I really thought it was going to be Caplin again even though I was sitting right there!) I think it even looks like me a little bit. I am swimming on the stamp, which is something I do a lot in real life. I’m not rolling though, I don’t know why. Of course, Melly still has to put it on a wooden block so that it stamps more reproducibly. I think the stripes in the red one look like my fur but they are not supposed to be there. Melly’s stamp is about 4 inches long.
Anyway, what do you think? Leave a comment and vote in the poll on the right side bar.
I love the stamps!
The stamps are sooooo cute. You are so creative. Ann
Hello my sweet Gari, You have no idea how much fun it is to get your emails. Don’t ever think you are sending too many. You can send tons of them and it would never be too many. I love you so much and wish I could take your cute little face in my hands and kiss that sweet nose of yours. LOL! Maybe someday I will. XOXOXO Ann
I love it! It’s nice to see a Gari stamp! I have the card and Caplin stamp that came with the necklace, and have it with my special cards! Definitely a keeper! I do like the hair in the red one. I think it’s great with more detail!
Both stamps are wonderful! I think Melly’s first stamp looks much more “capry-like” than the one she found on Etzy. Pretty impressive. Looking forward to my next order arriving with a stamp on it. (I cherish the sticker and card that came with my last order and wish we could order the stickers from your site!)
Can NEVER have too many emails about Capybaras! 🙂 As far as rubber stamps, Gari, it’s a human thing!
