Capy on the Loose in UK

Capybara at Henly on the Thames

Okay my UK friends and fans, now is your chance! This beautiful photo was taken by one of your compatriots, Alan Harvey, somewhere near Henly on the Thames. Look how nicely the capybara is posing! According to a recent newspaper article, the capy is an adult male who is quite tame. However, I suggest you just take photos and don’t get too close. Even tame, we have huge teeth that are razor sharp and he might get scared and do something rash.

If you do see the capy, please call 07802805893 so that he can be returned safely home. The wilds of England are not safe for a capybara so I hope he gets home soon.

Update (2013/06/06):

Everyone can stop looking now, Jack has been returned safely to his home.

I hope he gets found by a good person who returns him to his owners. Does anyone know who owns him, and why he is loose? Poor baby!

  • There’s been a lot of sightings, so it would seem easy to find him. That hard part, i know, would be to catch him. I hope he can be lured out of the wilderness & able to get back home. Especially before winter comes again.
