Me wearing a traditional Tatar cap
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and not getting too much snow or cold weather (for those in the northern hemisphere) or too much heat (for those in the southern hemisphere). It has been pretty nice here, a bit cold but not too bad. Today it is mid 60s F so I’ve been outside a lot.

The Capybara in Winter
As you can see from the above photo, Melly is feeling well. She is up to some of her old antics, such as forcing me to wear a Texas A&M scarf. Fact is, I am not a fan of Texas A&M since that is where I go to the vet. Knowing that, you can see that I am not quite 100% or I would have bitten her. I don’t think a three-toothed bite will have quite the same effect either, which makes me sad. Continue reading “Double Update” »
Out for a walk in the sun
Just a quick update on how Garibaldi Rous is doing, which is surprisingly well! He is a resilient little capybara if he is anything! In the photo above, you can see that he went out for a walk around the house today. Another installment in the long suffering of a poor little capybara who never hurt anyone, my adorable Garibaldi Caplin Rous. And it is the worst one so far. The photo above was taken the day before we went to the vet. He looks both healthy and happy but apparently he is neither.

I have a red nose just like Rudolph the reindeer
I am worried today.. Dobbye Winnick’s owner Stacy is visiting Melly. When she does that, bad things happen. Almost every time she comes I end up going to A&M for a vet visit. Last time she was here I did the A&M Vet School open house. That wasn’t as bad as getting knocked out and having your teeth drilled down or whatever they do when I’m unconscious, but it wasn’t something I’d do voluntarily, although Melly always volunteers me.
