As you can see from the above photo, Melly is feeling well. She is up to some of her old antics, such as forcing me to wear a Texas A&M scarf. Fact is, I am not a fan of Texas A&M since that is where I go to the vet. Knowing that, you can see that I am not quite 100% or I would have bitten her. I don’t think a three-toothed bite will have quite the same effect either, which makes me sad.
Actually, I am doing pretty well. The weather has been warm so I have been going into the pool regularly to swim. Yesterday Melly even took me for a walk down to the creek. She didn’t take any photos because she’s afraid I will pull her in and ruin her camera. She’s still not all that steady on her feet and her vision is bad. She can’t see to the left at all because of her hemianopsia (I know some big words for a capybara!). All of which works to my advantage.
Does that photo look like anything? It is me rolling underwater but with Melly’s poor eyesight (more accurately, poor brainsight), we can’t be sure the photo makes any sense. As a helpful hint, my hind paws are at the bottom of the picture. Anyway, the point is that I feel well enough to roll. I need to get back in practice in case the world needs saving. What kind of superhero doesn’t practice his/her superpower?
My second superpower is pure, unadulterated cuteness. I’ve still got it. Unless I smile and you can see that I am missing one of my favorite teeth.
I lost a bit of weight while I was sick so I need to eat a lot to put it back on. Melly lost some weight while she was sick but believe me, she doesn’t need to put it back on.
I can even eat tough things like grass and corn-on-the-cob.
Oakley Bunny and I have been exercising together. She hasn’t been sick so she has an unfair advantage.
Hi Gari, Glad to hear both you and Melly are doing good. Three teeth are better than NO teeth – right – Time heals all. I believe I that and have for a very long time even before I lost my best friend, my husband Norm, time does help.
Glad to hear and see you are swimming and getting bad to normal. Take care and have a very Merry Christmas all the way from CANADA. xoxo
I am so happy to see that things are improving for you both!
Gari!
You look like you are feeling much better and I must say that you sure are super cute! You can be Melly’s seeing eye cappy! 🙂 I hope that you both continue to do well into the New Year 🙂 Sending hugs and kisses from your WI friends….
That’s wonderful news for both of you. So glad you are feeling better Gari – and I am glad Melly is feeling so much better. Hugs to you both.
I’m glad that you’re
both feeling better!
There is life after a stroke and a lost tooth!
That “cute” picture is sooooooooo cute! <3
Gari and Melly, I am delighted to hear that both of you are doing better. Melly, thank you for the postcard of Gari–it now occupies a spot of honor on my refrigerator. I will wish both Happy Holidays because I, like you, am an atheist. So I wish you both joy, peace and love. I hope you have much healthier new year. I have had a pretty rough year, too, so I am determined that next year will be better. Keep bringing us good updates.
Wonderful news!
Nancy
Hi Gari,
So glad to hear that you and Melly are feeling better. Nice to see you swimming. Those rolls look fabulous! Be kind to Melly as she needs to take time to feel better too. Season’s Greetings from snowy New Hampshire. Hoping the new year brings happiness and good health!
Janet
My guinea pig had 2 rotten front teeth removed. One was a lower tooth, and the other a bottom tooth. I was so worried for him, but he did much better afterwards and lived a very long life. The teeth didn’t wear properly after that, and he needed tooth trims, but the tooth removal was a good thing. I am glad you are feeling better. I hope what applied to my guinea pig also applies to a big handsome rodent guy such as yourself.
Hi Gari and Melly. I am glad you are both feeling better. Not sure what Capybaras eat at the Holiday season, but I hope you both enjoy the festivities. 🙂
Gari looks spectactularly handsome in his scarf. Glad to hear that you’re both feeling well, even if not 100% :).
Glad to hear both of you are doing better!
I wanted to let you know, though, that I get a “malware” warning when I come to your site, and I didn’t used to. I don’t know why . . .
Sooo happy you are both on the road to recovery. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all the gang xx
