 Melly with Caplin Rous dressed as a horse Caplin Rous’ birthday is coming up on July 10th. He would have been six this year. Melly still misses him every single day and I still struggle to live up to his legacy. One of the things Caplin was great at that I am not so good at was wearing costumes. See that photo above? Melly made him up as a horse for the PetCo Halloween costume contest in 2008. He made a pretty cute horse.  Is that really a rabbit? After Maple WoMER disappeared, Oakley Bunny looked so sad and lonely. So Melly said, when the time was right, that we would get a new bunny to keep Oakley company. And then she brought home THIS from BlogPaws! Is that a rabbit? It looks like an old man having a bad hair day! But no, Melly swears she is a rabbit.  Me, Oakley and Winston Bumblebee Barcode the First heading toward the new year 2013 is coming and I’m facing a dilemma. Everyone is supposed to make a New Year’s resolution that will make them a better person and/or capybara. I’m stumped. Being a capybara is pretty much perfection any way you look at it. How am I supposed to improve? I’m hoping my fans will leave comments on this post to give me some ideas. Remember it has to actually make me better and Melly says it cannot involve more biting.
 Who are you? This little guy came to live at our house on Monday. He doesn’t have a name yet. Melly’s been calling him Piig, but I don’t think that is a good name. So we’re going to have a contest with prizes and everything to name my little co-pet. In case you don’t know what he is, he is a guinea pig, a close relative of capybaras.  How to draw a capybara I saw a similar tutorial for drawing a cat on Facebook and decided to make one on how to draw a capybara. Of course, I’m not a very good artist so this is not such a great tutorial but I suppose it is better than nothing. So here’s my new contest! |
