A Scratch on the Porch

 

Morning nap

One morning I was sleeping on the front porch, as I usually do, when Melly appeared with her camera. Melly doesn’t always have time to spend with me on the porch, she usually has to go to work, or work from home or clean the house, but on days when she does have time, she always has her camera. Because she has the camera, she has to use it. This causes her to document my whole life, even the boring parts like me sleeping on the porch. And even from a bad angle like in the photo above.

Rodent Robber (Part II: The Rat)

When the weather is nice, Melly, Bakersfield, the rabbits and I like to chill out on the front porch. The rabbits usually keep their distance, some complaint they have about me chasing them. And Melly sits in a chair. But Bakersfield and I spend some real quality time.

Memorable Memorial Day

This was a long weekend here in the US, something called “Memorial Day.” It’s supposed to honor veterans and soldiers killed in the service of this country. I guess that sounds like a good idea, I mean those people are real heroes, but wouldn’t a better idea be not to have any wars? Maybe if everyone just took it easy they way they do on Memorial Day weekend all the time, we wouldn’t need a Memorial Day. Or at least we wouldn’t have to keep remembering new people. We should probably go ahead and remember all the people who already served and died. Just my humble capybara opinion.
