Me and Driftwood in blissful ignorance
Yoohoo! Mudskipper Rous here with another installment of the story of my life.
I hope you read My First Tricks where I show off the earliest tricks to be pounded into my little capy brain. In this post you will see that, sadly, it did not end there. See that colorful stool in the background of the photo above? My new tricks involve that. Oh the humiliation! But honestly, I’ll do anything for treats.

Sit is one of my tricks
Hi again! Mudskipper here. Hope you havent been waiting too long for my blog post. This will be worth it though. I’m very cute in this one.
For such a little capybara I know a lot of tricks. They are all tricks to get MelT to give me a treat. She’s a pushover for such things.

Through the hoop, Wesley!
I think I sometimes overlook Wesley in favor of Fiona in these blog posts. That is partly because she is Garibaldi’s sister and partly because she’s a bit more photogenic. But Wesley has a ton of personality too, and he’s really his own capybara as you’ll see in today’s post.

All four feet on the scale!
I’m starting out with my cutest photo. Look at little Wesley (left) and Fiona (right)! I think they misunderstood me. I was telling Wesley to put all four of his feet on the scale but they must have though I said “all forefeet on the scale,” and so Fiona came over to do her part.

Earlier this week I got the most interesting email from a man who works at a zoo in Slovenia. I’m including the email here so you can enjoy it as much as I did. ( I have made a few minor corrections to make it easier to read.)
My name is Simon and I love capybaras. I would really love to have capybara as a pet but I can´t, because I live in a block of flats. But I am currently employed in ZOO Ljubljana (Slovenia (Europe)) and somehow my dream fulfilled in a way.
There is one very special being, called Stinky.
I love Stinky so much that I am with him every and each day. It´s not my capybara, it´s ZOO ljubljana capybara but he is mine in my heart.
And if I tell you that we train agility, I´m sure you sure won´t believe me. We train approximately 1,6 year (in my free time) I started training him when he was basically adult animal (not juvenile).
I couldn’t publish anything earlier because he is not my capybara.
The part with Stinky starts at 15:28.
I really hope you will enjoy the video.
Regards and all the best,
Simon Budja Continue reading “Capybara Agility” »
