Some of you may recognize the rubber stamp shown above. Melly has been using it on a lot of the packages she sends out from our Capybara Madness store. In fact, all of the Caplin-Popsicle necklaces have gone out with this stamp on their package, which seems very appropriate.
She got that stamp in January after she randomly found it on Etsy. A brief email conversation with the artist, Christel LeBlanc, revealed that it is modeled on Caplin Rous. Well, duh, why else would a capybara be paired with a popsicle?
But of course that is not the end of it. Melly is nothing if not weird, I mean inventive. Or something. Not weird, I didn’t say that.
Anyway, just today she got a kit in the mail for making her own rubber stamps.
This is the very first rubber stamp that Melly made. I am happy to say that she made it of me! (I really thought it was going to be Caplin again even though I was sitting right there!) I think it even looks like me a little bit. I am swimming on the stamp, which is something I do a lot in real life. I’m not rolling though, I don’t know why. Of course, Melly still has to put it on a wooden block so that it stamps more reproducibly. I think the stripes in the red one look like my fur but they are not supposed to be there. Melly’s stamp is about 4 inches long.
Anyway, what do you think? Leave a comment and vote in the poll on the right side bar.
