Biting Leopolda

My after pool run

I have a little ritual that I follow every afternoon after I get out of the pool. Actually, I have rituals for every time of day, but in this blog post I’m only going to talk about my after pool ritual. Anyway, it starts out with a run, as you can see in the photo above. My run isn’t very long. Sometimes I go all the way to the house, but sometimes I stop as soon as I see something good to eat.

Napa cabbage is good to eat

Today I spotted part of a head of Napa cabbage lying in the grass and so I stopped. It is true that I had already eaten most of this head of cabbage while I was in the pool. Part of my in-the-pool ritual is that I eat a big head of lettuce/chard/endive/cabbage or other green while I am sitting on my pool table. Whatever I don’t eat, Melly throws out to the chickens, rabbits and tortoises. But this time I ate my own left overs.

Me and Leopolda (aka Leah)

Sometimes Leah comes around looking for scraps. All of my co-pets know to come looking for scraps around the time I’m through with my swim.

Usually I ignore Leah

Usually I ignore Leah. We don’t have much in common, except what we like to eat. She is not as discriminating as I am though.

Investigating

Sometimes I like to investigate her. What’s she doing? Is she alive? But the big question is, does she taste good?

I know! I know! I’m an herbivore! I do not eat other animals. But how can I be sure Leah is an animal? She looks more like a rock. And, truth be told, she does taste a lot like a salty rock. Not in a bad way.

Me and Leopolda

Look, it’s not my fault Leah looks delicious. Don’t judge!
