Me with my activity gym

Hey! it’s me again, Mudskipper Rous. I bet you missed me because I haven’t blogged in a while. I’m a very busy capybara.

The photo of me above was taken on Feb. 17th. That was one short month ago. I was just a baby then and could hardly reach my toys.

This is me this week. You can see how much I’mgrowing! I can reach all of my toys on the gym. I don’t even have to stand on my hind legs anymore. That is good because now I have a cat.

Cats play hard. If I were still so small he would play too rough for me. I started out a bit smaller than Driftwood, as you can see in the photo above.

The photo above shows two things. The gym is getting smaller and so is my cat! MelT says that I am getting bigger but I still feel the same size so I think she is lying.

Anyone can tell you that playing is hard work, especially when you’re playing with a kitten. It is important for a kitten to get lots of exercise, much more than a baby capybara. But since he’s my cat, it’s my responsibility.

Sometimes we play like we are sleeping. This doesn’t last very long.

Neither one of us is very good at that game. After a while we end up real sleeping.

Cats seep in weird positions.. I would never stretch my legs out like that. And how do they turn so flat?

See? Thats the way you are supposed to sleep. Paws nestled under your head and a nice round back.

I am more inventive in my play than Drifter is. Above I am pretending to be a black-footed ferret. Drift didn’t think my impression was very good but I thought it was excellent. He certainly couldn’t do better. But then he said cats don’t pretend to be other animals, why would they?

A lot of times Driftwood gets in my water bowl with me. I try to keep him out for two reasons. Firstly, there’s hardly enough room in there for both of us. Secondly, it’s really not sanitary, if you know what I mean. And cats are supposed to be so clean!

Outside!
Outside!

Sometimes it’s nice to be alone. That’s the reason I like it when MelT takes in outside on my leash. Driftwood isn’t allowed outside, at least not yet. He is going to inherit my harness when I grow out of it. Then all my privacy will be gone.

It might look like I am jumping for joy in the photo above, but that is not the case. That stupid leash keeps me from going where I want to go. This is me trying to figure out how to get away from it.

That just about concludes my blog post. The last thing is the video below. I hope you enjoy it! Leave a comment if you do. I really like comments.
