This is the earliest known photo of me sleeping, right after I came to live with Melly and Rick. I am 11 months old in this photo and adapting well to my new home. But why, you may ask, do I have a tape measure around my neck? That is something Rick dreamed up to get me used to being harnessed. I ate it a few days later.

I have to say, sleeping is something I have always been good at. Maybe not quite as good as rolling, but it is up there at the top of my special talents. In this photo I am almost 13 months old.
I think that as I get older, I get better at sleeping. I probably practice it even more than I practice rolling. In this photo I am about 1.5 years old and you can see that I am perfecting my form.
I don’t sleep on my blue chair very often anymore. It seems to have gotten smaller. Actually, a lot of my favorite beds have gotten smaller over time.

I don’t always use a pillow, but when I do, I look super cute. Cuteness and form are two of the primary attributes of sleeping. After comfort, I guess.
In the winter (this photo was taken in January, 2011), I like to sleep on the bed where it is warmer. I don’t like sleeping under the covers though, that scares me. Sometimes I’ll use a pillow but usually my paws are good enough.
The good thing about a pillow is that the pillowcase is edible. You can have a little snack without even having to raise your head! If you look closely, you can see I have chewed the corner of this pillow case. Melly tried to crop it out of the photo so you wouldn’t know.

Sometimes it is nice to sleep with a friend…and I don’t mean my chickens or my rabbits. Firstly, they are not allowed on the bed. And secondly, I think they eat all of my food while I am sleeping. I can trust Super Capy. He wouldn’t be a superhero if he did stuff like that.
Sometimes I have to sleep with my chickens. They don’t scare away as easily as you might think. Those chickens aren’t chicken. They’re also not quiet.
When the capy’s asleep, the rabbits will eat, as the saying goes. At least they are quiet about it. They are quiet about everything.
At the end of my afternoon swim, I like to spend about 1/2 hour sleeping in the pool. Sometimes I do this on my pool table, as shown above, but sometimes I get on Melly’s lap and make her hold me while I sleep. That is not easy for her to get a photo of because she has to use her hands to hold me. I put my front paws on her left arm and my back paws on her right leg and she holds me just right so my head is just out of the water like in the photo above. That might be my favorite time of the day.

Leave a comment and let me know if think I am better at sleeping or at rolling. I need to know which one to practice more.
