Story: Three Baby Capybaras – Part 1
Hi all! Melly and I have decided to try something new. We are writing a short story and we thought we would share it with you as we go along. Not too much of it is written yet, which makes it more exciting! We’d love to hear comments about what you think should happen next! […]
My Big Boy Fur
This is me on the day I came to live with Melly and my Rick. I wasn’t even 10 months old yet. I sure had a big head! And I was scared of everything. But the point of this blog post is my fur. See how nice and red it is? And how short? It […]
A Visit to Philip’s House
No adventure is good that starts with a car trip. I have learned this the hard way. In fact, I have learned that no adventure is good. Capybaras were not made for adventures, and I am no exception.
Buda Library 2013
I think Melly is taking advantage of the way I have gotten used to car trips to make me do scary things. If you read my last blog post, you know she recently made me spend the night in a motel. When I get in that car, I never know what is going to happen.
Capybara Vacation
See that photo above? That is my idea of a vacation. You go someplace a little bit off the beaten track (that is not my usual couch), you spend some time admiring the view, then you go back to the way things were before. It helps you appreciate what you have while giving you the […]
Co-Pet Update
Most of my readers probably know that I have a few co-pets. Okay, maybe more than a few. I think people love them as much or more than they love me, so I have decided to let everyone know how they are doing.
National Geographic and Me
I had a dream the other day, that large rodents and small rodents, tailed and tailless, brown and black and spotted, would all be featured in a special edition of National Geographic Magazine. That dream is, as yet, unfulfilled. The magazine cover shown above is a sham. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t made progress. […]
Caplin Day 2013
Melly’s Blog: Today is Caplin Day. On this day, July 10th, in 2007 Caplin Rous was born in Nacogdoches, Texas. I didn’t know it, but the birth of that tiny capybara would change my life. He changed other people’s lives too, teaching people around the world about the intelligent and affectionate nature of capybaras. When […]
A Super Capy in Tatarstan
Do you remember when I hurt my paw way back January? If not you can read Oh! My Aching Paw! Well, at that time we had a special offer of a Super Capy with a paw bandage just like mine. Here is the story of one of those intrepid Super Capys. It is truly amazing. […]
5 Days Until Caplin Day 2013
It is only five days until Caplin Day 2013 so there is no better time to revel in the cuteness that was Caplin Rous. Of course Caplin was cute all the time, but he was especially cute when he was wearing a costume. That is why we are celebrating Caplin Day with a Costume Contest […]
