 REady to pounce Skipper’s Post: Everyone has been telling me that Ion is not a baby jaguar. No matter how much evidence there is to the contrary, no one believes me. The only comment I got that made any sense is that he might be a dwarf jaguar. That would certainly be better, but still not great.
 Caplin Rous could really rock the ears It is only five days until Caplin Day 2013 so there is no better time to revel in the cuteness that was Caplin Rous. Of course Caplin was cute all the time, but he was especially cute when he was wearing a costume. That is why we are celebrating Caplin Day with a Costume Contest this year. I hope these photos of Caplin dressed as an Easter Bunny will inspire more people to enter the contest and will help to keep Caplin Rous, the World’s Most Famous Capybara, alive in our hearts and minds.  Melly with Caplin Rous dressed as a horse Caplin Rous’ birthday is coming up on July 10th. He would have been six this year. Melly still misses him every single day and I still struggle to live up to his legacy. One of the things Caplin was great at that I am not so good at was wearing costumes. See that photo above? Melly made him up as a horse for the PetCo Halloween costume contest in 2008. He made a pretty cute horse.
 Anything for a treat This post is a continuation of my previous post, The Serial Pooler. You might have gotten the idea that my life is easy from reading the previous post. Well, it’s not true. I have my share of hardship, let me tell you. Do you see that photo above? That’s the kind of thing I have to put up with to earn my treats. And that is just the start. Do not read any further if you care about the Dignity of Capybaras!
 Caplin Rous eating a popsicle Owner’s blog: Continuing on my memories of Caplin Rous as we approach what would have been his 5th birthday on July 10th. Don’t forget that if you’d like to buy a Caplin Rous Commemorative Necklace, they are on sale for $15 until his birthday. Supplies are limited. The photo above shows why the necklace features both a capybara and a popsicle. There is nothing cuter than a capybara eating a popsicle but for some reason Garibaldi Rous will not do it.
