Well, it finally happened! I turned five! And guess what I got for my birthday:bamboo! Delicious and nutritious. I’d much rather have bamboo than a dumb birthday cake. We capys aren’t into confections.

Meeting My Bear

It has been a long time since my last post. I’ve been a bit under the weather. My pneumonia cleared up but I am still not quite myself. MelT is always worrying about me, even when I’m in tip-top shape, so you can imagine what a stress her stress is putting on me! Plus, we have both been lazy. The days are short now, MelT says they will get longer again some day, but it is depressing.

Mudskipper has had a strange relationship with water, especially considering that she is a semi-aquatic rodent with a semi-aquatic name. In fact, capybaras should love water from the day they are born. From the photo above, you can see that, in the wild, even tiny newborn capybaras go swimming in caiman infested waters. Not to mention anacondas. So how about Mudskipper?
