Melanie’s post: Today would have been Garibaldi (Gari) Rous’ eighth birthday. It’s a day to take some time to remember him. For those of you who weren’t following the blog then, I hope you will look back to the posts between Jan. 2011 through Feb. 2014, the short time that Gari lived with me. Hi all! Well, I’m back, Mudskipper Rous, after a bit of an absence due to MelTs laziness. You really cannot imagine just how lazy she is! And she’s always blaming it on her brain damage, which is ridiculous. That was over a year ago, get over it! Anyway, my new post is about two great stalkers who visited me all the way from Tatarstan, which is in Russia. That’s a long way away. And they brought the World’s Most Traveled Super Capy with them. You can see a photo of the five of us together above. (Six if you count Supre Capy, which you should.) I had a terrible weekend last weekend because of how sore I was after my latest dental procedure so I wasn’t sure if I was looking forward to this weekend or not. I had a lot of Capybara Ambassador duties to see to and I was thinking I would rather just sit in the pool by myself all day and sleep. Sleeping is the capybara equivalent of reading (or watching TV for those of you who don’t read). I am a capybara. I am cute. I have to get used to it. There is nothing I can do about it. But it comes with a cost and that cost is visitors fawning over me, feeding me, scratching and petting me, giving me treats and hugging me. The only one of those things I don’t like is hugging. Capybaras don’t like to be hugged, it reminds us of anacondas. |
